History

Hope For Health began one year after the earthquake that hit Haiti on January 12, 2010. It started as a cooperative effort between three established organizations each bringing their expertise, experience and connections together and joining the resources, callings and passions of each to improve the health of woman and children in Haiti. Our goal is to eradicate malnutrition through the implementation of a comprehensive and sustainable health care system.

Micronutrient malnutrition or “Hidden Hunger” affects 1/3 of the world’s population and is a major cause of disease and death, especially in women and children in the developing world. Supplying vitamins and minerals to suffering children worldwide is possible and cost effect. Sadly, efforts to supply vitamins and minerals and general medical care for good health has not improved in over a decade even though we know the solution. We cannot sit by and wait for governments or someone else to do it.

We cannot help all the children everywhere, but we can start now with some children, somewhere. Hope for Health was started by a group of people that felt called to begin somewhere with some children. Our somewhere is Haiti.
